New employees

Catherine Van Draska joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids and East Central Iowa as Director of Program Development.

Petersen Pet Hospital hired Dr Hannah Green as a veterinarian and Brigitte Ayers as a customer care specialist.

Breanna Treimer is now a recruiter at Skywalk Group.

Marie miller joined the Arc of East Central Iowa as the system coordinator.

Promotions

Kelsey Luebbe was promoted to Commercial Banking Officer in the Iowa City office of Hills Bank and Trust Co.

Cedar Rapids Bank and Trust promoted Todd kerska to Executive Vice President of Operations and President of Best in Class Initiatives at QCR Holdings Inc., in addition to his role as CRBT Cashier of Guaranty Bank and Trust in 2017.

Glory

Stewart Baxter Funeral and Memorial Services of Cedar Rapids received the Iowa Award of Funeral Service Excellence at the Iowa Funeral Directors Association convention.

Digital help

Geonetric, the Cedar Rapids-based digital agency and software developer for the healthcare industry, is accepting applications from nonprofits in the region in need of a new website or digital marketing services to its 10th annual Operation Overnight, scheduled for October. 11 to 15. Applications will be accepted until June 24.

Events

The panel in the Gazette’s second quarter business breakfast series, “The Electricity Grid of the Future,” will be broadcast live online at 9:00 am Tuesday. Panelists will be Mayuri Farlinger of Alliant Energy; Michaela Freiburger, Dubuque County Energy District; Kerri Johannsen, Iowa Environmental Council; Dusky Terry, ITC Midwest; and Chad Wiltz, Van Meter. Viewers can submit questions to the panelists during the 60 minute session. The event will be free, but registration is required at thegazette.com/special-events/business-breakfast. The discussion will be recorded and can be viewed later on The Gazette’s website. BerganKDV, the business, financial and technology solutions company, is the series sponsor.
