Reporting to the Managing Director – Marketing, this Sydney-based role will create, direct, direct, inspire and manage Football Australia’s visual identity and all of its brand, product and program architecture.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the creation, development, monitoring and approval of creative design and branding in all its forms – from conception to delivery
  • Make high-level creative and visual decisions across all owned channels, partners, football network and media
  • Manage creative briefs, request pipeline and daily production of creative assets and requirements based on business priorities and needs via schedule planning as defined by the Chief Marketing Officer
  • Design and develop logos, templates, creative styling for teams, events, campaigns, activations, programs and brands across various mediums including design and proofing
  • Be a brand champion – ensure designs and content are consistent and positively reflect the correct and positive brand, product image and values ​​of Football Australia.
  • Coach and encourage the creative team to foster a positive work environment and ensure a high standard of design and production, completed on time
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders on creative products and designs that utilize the latest industry and global best practices
  • Serve as a liaison between the marketing team and the digital content team working on social media, video and digital content design
  • Liaise between Football Australia and agencies and partners focusing on all design support

Experience and skills required:

  • A collaborative leader and an inspiring team player
  • Have a strong work ethic and be able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Always be meticulously planned in the approach to all workloads, briefs and projects
  • Exceptional presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • High level technical ability with a variety of software including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Keynote, Microsoft Suite and motion graphic
  • Experience and/or understanding of UI, UX, video production and web design is an advantage
  • Ability to anticipate challenges, be flexible and identify opportunities
  • Knowledge and experience of how to develop brand identities and guidelines and execute them through traditional and digital omnichannel marketing
  • Talent and experience in presenting concise and accurate information tailored to the audience
  • Extremely high level of attention to detail
  • High-level experience and ease in liaising with internal and external stakeholders, agencies, partners and industry professionals
  • High level of professional skills including negotiation, project management and leadership
  • Evidence of continuous professional development in the areas of graphic design and leadership Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role and leading a team
  • Understanding of the football and sports industry is an advantage
  • May be required to work outside normal business hours and weekends
