Coinciding with the reopening of Theater Royal Sydney yesterday, operators of the Trafalgar Entertainment Group announced the promotion of Houri Tapiki as the venue’s general manager.
Tapiki joined the Theater Royal Sydney team as Head of Guest Experience – becoming one of the first three members of the venue’s management team.
With a long customer experience in a wide range of venues and events, she joined the Theater Royal Sydney after leading the customer service teams at Ticketek.
Commenting on her new appointment, Tapiki said: “I feel truly honored to be appointed Managing Director of Theater Royal Sydney during this exciting time for the venue.
“The Theater Royal Sydney is where my passion and love for theater and the performing arts took shape over 20 years ago, when I started my career as a ticket seller.
“Now running this iconic venue as we prepare to reopen after a major renovation is a real privilege. We have assembled a team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences and we look forward to welcoming audiences once again to enjoy our beautiful theater ”.
Tapiki succeeds Jono Perry who oversaw the renovation of the theater.
Looking back on his contribution, Perry said “it has been an absolute privilege to work with Houri, Tim, Torben and the amazing team at Theater Royal Sydney.
“The Royal is a cultural icon of Sydney and playing a small role in the rebirth of this extraordinary theater has been an honor.”
