Rage Communications of Chennai acquired by Japanese advertising giant ADK

Chennai: Japanese advertising agency, ADK has acquired Chennai-headquartered Rage Communications, an agency specializing in digital experience design and e-commerce solutions. Financial details of the deal remain undisclosed. The acquisition will see ADK become the largest shareholder while Rage founders JRK Rao and Karthik Kumar will be minority shareholders.
As part of the agreement, Rage will be rebranded as ADK Rage, and Rao will continue to lead as CEO of ADK Rage, and with Kumar will work closely with ADK’s global team to deliver integrated solutions to customers. . This partnership marks ADK’s entry into India and Australia, two markets where Rage Communications has already established itself.
The partnership will combine the two organizations’ capabilities in digital marketing, web design and development, data analytics, and content marketing to drive integrated brand campaigns for clients. Rage Communications expects to accelerate its global expansion plans with this agreement, particularly in the markets of Japan, North America and Europe.
ADK is a long-standing organization in Japan, and was interested in growing its digital assets, and therefore found synergy with us as we are primarily a digital native company, Kumar said.
Rage offers a full range of CX, CRM, UI/UX and performance marketing solutions for clients worldwide through its offices in India, Australia (Sydney) and Singapore. It has approximately 200 employees in total and expects the agreement to result in more learning opportunities for its employees in all markets.
“This represents substantial opportunities for our respective teams to work together in an increasingly tech-driven, multicultural world,” said the founders of Rage.
Rage’s customer base includes AMP, Citibank, IIT Madras, IIM Ahmedabad, JLL, Mastercard, Sephora, Sterling Holidays, Tata Motors, Tata Croma and Unilever, and these will join ADK’s global customer roster.
