Senior Graphic Designer – Pedestrian TV

Viking is looking for a talented Senior Designer with over 6 years of experience to join its Integrated Marketing team. Responsible for producing high-quality, creative print and digital marketing materials showcasing the full line of Viking products, this hands-on role requires a conceptual thinker with an innate sense of curiosity.

Main responsibilities

  • Produce custom printed materials including brochures, advertising, flyers, catalogs, magazines, signage, stationery
  • Creation of dynamic digital media such as interactive eBooks, videos for social media posts and advertising, animated GIFs, animated and static HTML5 web banners, infographics, Facebook thumbnails and eDM banners
  • From concept to production execution of sales campaign materials, including overall creative themes and materials for various marketing channels
  • Act as the custodian of the brand and ensure that brand guidelines are followed at all times in the creation process
  • Ensure all jobs meet high production values ​​and follow current company brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on the creation of all assets
  • Implement the most efficient briefing and production processes to meet internal and external deadlines and continuously improve procedures to maximize efficiency
  • Manage the production of all print jobs from start to finish ensuring quality control, correct specifications and working with marketing managers to develop and ensure deadlines are met
  • Develop and maintain relationships with a selection of printers and other third party vendors such as AdobeStock and Dropbox
  • Validation of all print and digital proofs
  • Work with online warranty submission systems for advertisements and brochures such as AdSend, AdStream, InSite, Integration X, Issuu and others
  • Liaise with global offices on creative asset sharing, including cataloging media from other markets, acquiring resources, debriefing new content
  • Search for brand images and videos from global asset libraries and company-managed AEM database and collaborate with head office on global rights
  • Ensure organization of all files on the server including images and videos for authorized use across all marketing channels
  • Train the marketing team on how to properly use Adobe Creative Cloud and Libraries to create basic digital assets or make basic edits, and approve all creations before they go live
  • Collaborate with freelance designers if necessary
  • Supervision of design interns

Skills and experience required

  • Formal training in desktop publishing or graphic design
  • Strong design portfolio that demonstrates conceptual and creative thinking translated into design solutions
  • Creative spirit and sense of design
  • A conceptual thinker
  • Extensive experience demonstrated in a Mac OS environment with: Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, InCopy, Bridge and LightRoom,
  • Experience in producing brochures and direct mail
  • In-depth knowledge of printing and prepress and print job management
  • Photo editing skills
  • Motivated and shows initiative
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects

Desired skills and experience

  • Understanding of the travel industry
  • Work with HTML5 and asset creation / delivery software Bannersnack or similar
  • Basic HTML / CSS and Using Adobe Dreamweaver
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Basic experience in video editing and animation with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Media Encoder
  • Experience with project management software or similar
