In their quest for scouting talent, the Teremoto boxing club will be hosting what they call the ‘Judgment Day’ boxing bonanza to ensure they develop amateur boxers.

The boxing extravaganza will take place on October 1 at the Ongwediva Multi-Purpose Center.

Club founder Emvula Emvula said their boxers have been out of the ring for about three months. So they came up with the concept of “Judgement Day” with the aim of tracking their progress and development during the training period.

“We want our fans to be the judges of their level of growth or progress during the boxing bonanza,” he said.

Besides judging the boxers’ readiness, Emvula promised an exciting night for boxing fans in the northern regions.

Emvula said he has prepared an exciting card which will feature cunning and skillful boxers hoping to become big names in the sport.

“Teremoto is dedicated to promoting the greatest of fights and we want to keep breaking records,” he said.

He said they had 15 matches on the schedule, which included cadets and elite boxers among others.

The main event of the evening will be between Israel Hamunyela of Teremoto and Kakololo “Faruko” Elikana of the Intelligence Boxing Academy.

“They are the big boys of the cruiserweight division and they hit extremely hard so we can expect a knockout or a stoppage,” he pointed out.

He stressed that this is an exciting match that will leave fans wanting more.

Emvula said the boxing bonanza will benefit both the boxers and the Ongwediva SME community.

He explained that hosting the boxing match will ensure the creation of temporary jobs for security, transport or logistics contractors, while vendors will ensure that they will be able to sell their products.

Emvula said the long-awaited fight is finally here and with the fighters ready to trade leather, now is the time for fans to come and witness the boxing revolution.
