ARMING WOMEN with “relevant information and skills they can use” to pursue their business goals is on the agenda for Sharmadean Reid, Founder and CEO of The Stack World.
Reid’s organization, in partnership with Squarespace, the leader in all-in-one website builder and e-commerce platform, is leading a new mentorship program initiative that aims to empower female creators to start their own business.
As part of a larger partnership, Squarespace and The Stack World are hosting the upcoming The Stack World Conference, which provides access to 12 hours of unique, curated events to inspire and educate budding entrepreneurs.
The two entities hope that the combination will help overcome and eliminate many of the obstacles female creators face when taking the next steps in building their businesses.
Ten candidates will be selected to participate in the two-month mentoring program.
Top female executives as well as Reid, including Danielle Chadha, director of international marketing at Squarespace, and Olivia Ferdi, co-founder of premium brand CBD TRIP alongside others, will become dedicated mentors.
Reid enthused, “The Stack World exists to power women’s communities in every way, from offering tools and expert advice to building your peer circle and networking.
“Through the new mentorship program and the one-day Stack Conference, we will continue to equip young businesswomen with all the relevant information and skills they can use in their personal and professional journeys.”
The Mentorship Program is tailor-made for creators looking for the support, guidance, and knowledge that the Squarespace communities and The Stack World have to offer.
The application process will be open and encourage applications from those who are current and future founders and co-founders.
Applicants are asked to submit a one-page business plan and selected mentees will rely on their mentors for execution, whether it’s content creation, branding, or help with establishment of a visual identity.
“Squarespace and The Stack World both share a common vision of championing creators at every stage of their journey,” Chadha said.
“This mentorship program will provide ten women with life-saving skills in business creation, while receiving advice from some of the UK’s most inspiring businesswomen.
“We’re excited to play a part in helping creators get their business off the ground and giving them the opportunity to learn from The Stack World’s uplifting network that spans so many different creative industries.”
Applications for the mentorship program will be open until September 23.
